Overview

The Community is looking to hire a curious, creative and ambitious Cultural Intelligence Director, the type of person that has (a) a POV on everything culture from Dadaism to Demure and (b) enjoys dreaming up what it all means for brands. As part of a growing team that is the cultural insights engine responsible for helping one of the world's leading companies deeply understand the realities of a diverse and changing America through strategic POVs and strategies to help build the brand's cultural fluency. As the Director, you will own the proactive generation of cultural, consumer & category insight deliverables. Internally, the role will partner closely with strategy & creative to ensure the creation of culturally honest and breakthrough work. This role will be based in either Miami or the NYC office for a hybrid work environment and will report to the Head of Cultural Intelligence.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience with some combination, if not most in the following disciplines: cultural intelligence, qualitative research, quantitative research, foresight, trend forecasting, brand strategy, creative strategy, consumer research & insights, DEI and/or multicultural marketing
  • Expert wordsmith and storyteller as well as outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Strong passion in studying culture and ideating on breakthrough ways for brands to leverage culture responsibly and that is reflective of consumer truths
  • Professional and/or personal experience in one or more marginalized communities
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to be creative in all phases of the work
  • Interest in being a critical role in maintaining a culture of learning and development across the agency account and with clients
  • Fluent oral and written English required, a proven record of cross-cultural enthusiasm and any Spanish language skills strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the development of client-facing deliverables including but not limited to primary research studies, trend reports, creative briefs, strategic narratives, competitive audits and cultural POVs
  • Proactively seek opportunities to deliver breakthrough consumer insights & cultural opportunities that can drive short & long-term business impact
  • Conduct research leveraging a variety of syndicated tools & subscriptions, desk research, and social listening
  • Lead primary research studies (both qual & quant) so experience in writing screeners, surveys, discussion guides and moderating IDIs and focus groups is essential
  • Collaborate with the Head of Cultural Intelligence in efforts to scale the reach and impact of Cultural Intelligence across the agency and with clients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams – media, account, creative, brand strategy
  • Spearhead internal & client meetings in which to easily position yourself as a key strategic thought leader and authoritative voice on cultural insights
  • Provide oversight & mentorship to junior team members in the development of client-facing deliverables
  • Proven track record of turning compelling findings into equally as compelling content that leads to disruptive and exciting ideation

Compensation Range: $98,500 - $165,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
